Fraxel Dual
Fraxel Dual is a FDA-approved laser treatment intended to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, skin pigmentation, acne scarring, sun damage, acne, stretch marks, and, in some cases, the pre-cancerous skin condition actinic keratosis (AK).
How it Works
This fractional laser creates thousands of microscopic treatment zones per square centimeter of skin, causing the natural healing process of the body to stimulate collagen growth and regenerate healthy skin cells. Patients are able to eliminate scars, wrinkles and other unhealthy tissue by allowing the underlying tissue to regrow into a rejuvenated, glowing texture. This is done without damaging healthy tissue, creating less complications and a drastically reduced recovery period.
What Can I Expect?
Clinical studies suggest that on average, an effective treatment regimen is three to five sessions spaced around two to four weeks apart. Optimal improvement to your skin is usually visible in two to three months.
During the Treatment
Most patients describe an increased sensation of heat during the treatment. To minimize discomfort, topical anesthesia is applied before the procedure and cold air is used on the treatment area during the procedure.
After The Treatment
During the first 24 hours after a treatment, your skin may feel as though it is sunburned, and it will appear pink or red. You can wear makeup to reduce the sunburned appearance. Your skin will naturally bronze after a week or two. Your skin will also flake and exfoliate normally; so you should use moisturizer to reduce the appearance of dry flakes.
