PhotoFacial IPL

PhotoFacial IPL is an Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology which can treat sun damage, age spots, rosacea, acne, broken capillaries, spider veins, fine lines, and wrinkles. Treatment areas include the face, neck, shoulders, back, hands and more.

How it Works

Your technician will use an IPL device to heat up the tissue beneath the treatment area, which will encourage the body to produce more collagen.

What Can I Expect?

Clinical studies suggest that on average, an effective treatment regimen is three to five sessions spaced around two to four weeks apart. Optimal improvement to your skin is usually visible in two to three months.

During the Treatment

During the procedure your eyes will be protected with an eye mask. Many patients liken the feeling to a rubber band being snapped against the skin. You may ask for cooling gel to be applied to the treatment area if you are worried about the discomfort.

After the Treatment

PhotoFacial IPL has little to no downtime and results can be seen in one to three treatments. After each treatment it is recommended you stay away from sunlight for a while. You may ask for a powerful sunscreen to further reduce sun exposure.
A couple of days after the treatment you may notice tiny dark spots. This is normal and if they start to flake or peel do not pick them as this may cause problems including further skin discoloration and scarring.

For Those With Skin in Fitzpatrick Range 4-6

Unfortunately we do not recommend that those with skin in the Fitzpatrick scale between IV and VI get an IPL treatment as the technology does not work well on these skin types. However we offer other skin rejuvenation treatments that will work on all skin types, unless specified.
