How It Works
First a special gel is applied to the treatment area. Then the technician uses ultrasound imaging to take a look beneath the treatment area to see the layers of tissue they are treating. After this, the Ultherapy handpiece touches the skin and targets the areas beneath the treatment area, causing the collagen under the treatment area to regenerate.
What Can I Expect?
During the Procedure
You will only need one treatment and the time it takes varies between the treatment area. Treating the face or neck typically takes 60-90 minutes while a chest treatment takes approximately 30 minutes.
After the Treatment
There is no downtime so you can return to your normal activities after the procedure. Your skin might be red after the treatment but it should disappear after a few hours. Some patients experience slight swelling, tingling or tenderness to the touch but these are mild and temporary in nature.
Some patients can see an initial effect right after their treatment, but the real results appear over 2−3 months as new collagen works to lift and tighten skin on the neck, chin and brow as well as smooth skin on the chest. While Ultherapy won’t duplicate the results of a facelift, it’s a clinically proven non-invasive alternative for those not ready for surgery
